Protecting Children, Creating a Safe Environment

The Philippines is currently celebrating the  National Children’s Month on this month of  November with the theme “Break the Prevalence, End the Violence: Protecting Children, Creating a Safe Philippines.” Which  serves as a reminder that we should do our best to protect children from harm, violence, and many other types of abuse to our fellow children and instead we should  protect them and create a safer environment for them.

A lot of children’s s in the Philippines is still facing different forms of violence, such as physical abuse, neglect, and even online exploitation. Besides having laws to protect them, like the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act, these problems are still happening and it shows that there is more work to be done to make sure every child feels safe not only at home but also at school, and in their communities.

This year’s theme encourages everyone including parents, teachers, government leaders, and even the children’s themselves to raise awareness about the importance of protecting children. We need to stand up against any form of abuse and make sure children grow up in safe and loving environments. It’s a reminder that each and every one of us has to help in keeping children safe and helping create a better future for them and for us.
