Vigan Cityhood

     


     Vigan city is located in Ilocos Sur. Vigan city has iconic cobblestone streets and Spanish era buildings, such as the Syquia Mansion and St. Paul’s Cathedral. These designs typically shows Spanish, Chinese, and Filipino influences. Life in Vigan during the colonial period was centered around agriculture, crafts, and trade, making it an important part of the region’s economy.


    Today, Vigan city is now one of the most popular destinations for tourists in many different parts of the world, thanks to its charming and well preserved heritage. Vigan city now still  shows a view of its past with its charming streets filled with cobblestones, historical buildings, and several traditions. Tourism has become the vigan city’s one main source of income, but still, agriculture and traditional crafts like pottery and weaving are still important to the community, since it is a part of our culture. Despite the changes, Vigan has managed to keep its unique character, offering a perfect blendx of historical and modern culture.
