KANNAWIDAN, INTAYON ILOCOS SUR!
The Kannawidan Festival is celebrated each year in the province of Vigan, Ilocos Sur as a cultural event. It is actually held annually to commemorate the founding of the province and to honor its rich cultural heritage. The festival gets its name from the Ilocano word "kannawidan," which means "place of convergence" or "gathering place." This is wherein people meet and communicate with others in a certain place like Kannawidan. The significance of Kannawidan Festival is because this shows other people from other places the Ilocos province’s history, culture, traditions, customs and more. During the festival, locals and visitors are able to try, experience and enjoy the unique Ilocano culture through various activities, such as traditional dances, music, and food. The festival also features exhibits, trade fairs, and competitions that highlight the province's products, skills, and creativity. Overall, the Kannawidan Festival is a celebration of Ilocos Sur's identity and a way to promote tourism, cultural preservation, and community development.
